Resources for AHFC Tenants

Alaskans living in AHFC-Owned housing or using vouchers for private rental properties can access these resources.

Employment Library

The AHFC Employment Library provides information, resources and tips to help potential applicants on their career journey.

Education and Employment Classes

Alaska Housing offers free education and employment-related classes to housing assistance participants and applicants. Classes are taught by experienced and credentialed educators.

Financial Literacy Courses and Resources

Each family in the Step program must have one adult family member complete a financial literacy course by the end of the first year of participation. There are four options available to complete the requirement. A collection of online resources are also available to help enhance financial literacy.

Scholarships

Alaska Housing offers an annual Education Scholarship that can help AHFC tenants and voucher holders advance their career goals through education. The AHFC Youth Summer Camp and Activity Scholarship helps eligible young Alaskans to attend a summer camp or participate in an activity of their choosing.

Hardship Policy & Bridge Process

There may be times when individuals face life circumstances that can affect their income. Alaska Housing’s hardship policy addresses such situations through the Bridge Process. Families must submit a Bridge Application along with appropriate documentation to begin the process.

Step Extension

The Step Extension process helps support families approaching the end of their Step term who are anticipated to experience a high shelter burden. The extension combined with Jumpstart participation is meant to help families reach self-sufficiency.

RENTCafé
