Housing Voucher Options
In addition to its Housing Choice Voucher program, AHFC collaborates with partner organizations across the state to serve Alaskans with distinct needs. Special Purpose Vouchers and vouchers for specific rental locations are two options that may be available for Alaskans requiring housing assistance.
Housing Stabilization & Recovery
Alaska Housing, collaborating with partners across the state, is providing short- and long-term housing stabilization for Alaska’s homeless population. The innovative program is uniquely holistic, addressing the full spectrum of housing insecurities.
The goal of AHFC’s Housing Stabilization & Recovery program is to get people off the streets, out of shelters and into stabilized housing. From there, housing navigators work with clients to find a rental unit for a longer period of time. Each client receives stability assistance, moving expenses, rental deposits and up to 12 months of rental assistance.
