Governor Fast-Tracks Homeless Funding - Posted April 3, 2020
On March 16, 2020 Governor Dunleavy signed HB 206 that included Homeless Assistance Program funding. Two days later, Alaska Housing’s Planning department sent grant agreements totaling $7.2 million to 35 nonprofit providers in 13 communities that provide emergency or transitional housing and/or services to prevent homelessness or rehouse those who have been displaced.

Data Provides Efficiencies - Posted October 15, 2019
Alaska Housing created the open-source Building Monitoring System known as BMON that measures real-time energy use to provide a summary of building operational performance. Energy use of Alaska Housing properties, including its headquarters, are managed by the system and data is provided publicly. With a click of a button, Alaska Housing can review energy-use trends and identify signs of potential problems in heat and electric supplies across its senior and public housing units. 
In rural areas individuals struggling without shelter often find haven inside the home of another family member or friend. Without a nonprofit shelter and in some of the most extreme climates on earth, families don’t have another choice.
