The guide has been updated to address this new method of obtaining debt. All applicable debts must be included in the borrower’s debt-to-income ratio. If the liability has less than 10 months remaining, the lender must request an exception to omit the debt from liabilities prior to AHFC loan commitment.

Maximum loan amounts for 2026 have been updated and apply to loans delivered to AHFC for purchase on or after January 1st, 2026 (even if originated prior to 1/1/2026)
