Local jurisdictions that would like to setup congregate housing for those who are homeless or displaced should contact Alaska’s Emergency Operation Center at 907-428-7077.
Do You Need Immediate Assistance?
If you are homeless or at-risk of becoming homeless, call 2-1-1 or 800-478-2221. Its the key for connecting you with many resources. The service is available by phone Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm or 24/7 online at www.alaska211.org.
2-1-1 is provided by United Way of Alaska and is free and confidential.
About the Statewide Homeless Housing Office
The role of the Statewide Homeless Housing Office is to serve as a single point of contact for nonprofit and supportive housing providers regarding funding, technical and counseling assistance, data collection, best practice sharing, as well as connect those who are homeless with referrals to our community partners when appropriate.
The Statewide Homeless Housing Office is open to all Alaskans. It is supported by multiple staff within AHFC, and its activities are coordinated by Jennifer Smerud. Contact us at 907-330-8255 (833-330-8255 toll-free outside of Anchorage) or firstname.lastname@example.org.
