Take a Class

Alaska Housing offers a free class to help prospective homebuyers work their way through the decisions and steps that buying a home can entail. Complete the course and save money on Alaska Housing closing costs. The class is open to all buyers, whether it's your first house or your fifth.


Builder, inspector, lender and real estate professional education

Alaska Housing offers classes, continuing education credits and certification exams for housing professionals ranging from financing options and energy efficiency to HUD regulations and inspector training. To find out more, access the complete list of course offerings within the Partners section.

CD-TA program training

A limited number of spaces are available for each training with preference given to CHDO agency staff, a HOME program sponsor, or an agency with a McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance grant. Energy and weatherization classes

Alaska Housing offers a variety of classes for homeowners and renters, as well as professionals working in the housing industry. The classes are designed to empower attendees with the knowledge to live and work in safe, healthy and energy efficient homes. Visit our classes page for a list of upcoming classes in your area. Topics include heating and hot water, windows and doors, insulation, air tightness and ventilation, plus how to choose a contractor and lighting and appliances.

GOAL and Beneficiary and Special Needs Housing (SNHG) programs workshops

Learn about the application process for the GOAL and SNHG programs which provide development funding for affordable housing for individuals, families, seniors and persons with disabilities.
