What Is Security Deposit Assistance?

Families who participate in AHFC's Housing Choice Voucher program may be eligible for security deposit assistance. This assistance is funded by CARES Act funds and must be processed by AHFC no later than December 31, 2021. CARES Act funds for security deposit assistance will not be available after that date.

If your family is income eligible for a Housing Choice Voucher, you are automatically eligible for the security deposit assistance. Participants who are eligible and want to use this resource need to submit their landlord paperwork to their local AHFC office by December 23, 2021. 

I Am Eligible for Security Deposit Assistance — What Do I Do?

If you have not yet submitted required paperwork to AHFC, you MUST do the following by December 23, 2021:

  • Finalize your shopping process
  • Submit your landlord paperwork to AHFC
