"As I see it, yes."

That’s one of the affirmative answers you might recall, if like me, you enjoyed the simplicity of the 8-Ball fortune-telling toy of years past.

Older Alaskans may yearn for such easy advice when a new senior facility opens in their community. To that extent, let’s see what the 8-Ball might say when asked about Whispering Winds, a new 84-unit senior housing development located in the heart of Palmer.

I love my current home, but it’s just not easy to get around anymore. Would a move help?

"Yes definitely."

Whispering Winds offers loads of accessibility features to assist with aging, from elevators and ramps to the simplest grab bar at just the right height and location when you need it most. There’s even covered parking!

I rarely see anyone now and would enjoy having coffee with someone my age. Is this for me?

"Without a doubt."

Whether your hankering is enjoying the community garden, community room with full kitchen, playing a game of pool, surfing the Internet in the computer area, or sipping coffee with a friend, social interaction is as much or as little as you dictate — whether in your new home or in the adjoining common spaces

I love exercise and gardening, but also desire security. Will I be happy?

"It is certain."

Situated in a quieter corner of Palmer yet convenient to most everything, including nearby Mat-Su Senior Services, Whispering Winds provides lots of walking trails, a dog park, picnic area and views of Pioneer Peak that will astound year round. Oh, and don’t forget the State Fairgrounds and Palmer Golf Course too!

So what you’re saying is, Whispering Winds might just be for me?

"Signs point to yes."

Allow your retirement years to have purpose, whether through volunteering or reaching out to others, who much like yourself, seek the same quality of life and interaction as you do. Your own mental health may be benefit
In fact... "You may rely on it."
