Home Opportunity Program (HOP)

The HOP program provides down payment and closing cost assistance to low-income individuals and families who are trying to purchase a home.

The funds are made available through nonprofit intermediaries who administer programs in the major urban areas of Alaska. Please contact the agency that serves your community to see if you qualify for the program.

Grant Funding Availability

HOP grants are made available on a 3-year basis. A Notice of Funding available will be published for the first year. Grants awarded under this NOFA may be renewed for two additional years based on grantee performance and available funds. The last NOFA was published in January 2017 with $1.4 million available for HOP activities. The next NOFA should be published in January 2020.

Please review program eligibility, requirements, and program specific information in the HOP Program Policies and Procedures manual found below.
