Meeting the housing needs of rural areas has been a mission for Marty Shuravloff from Kodiak. He has served the mission both from the position as Kodiak Island Housing Authority executive director and member of the AHFC’s board of directors 2000 to 2016.
“Marty is one of the longest serving members of the board. He served under five governors. His contribution to housing in rural Alaska and the entire state during the last 20 years cannot be overstated,”
— Bryan Butcher, AHFC’s CEO/Executive Director
In 2017, the Native American Indian Housing Council recognized Marty’s service and awarded him the George Nolan Award for Outstanding Lifetime Service at its national conference in Nashville, TN.
