How To Calculate Your Household Income
To qualify, there is a maximum household income level which varies, depending on where you live. You are asked you to provide your household income so that we can determine if you are eligible for rent and/or utility relief. The following sources are examples of what you should include when determining your income.
- Wages, salaries, tips
- Unemployment benefits (excluding COVID-related stimulus money)
- Permanent Fund Dividends
You can also deduct certain expenses, such as college tuition and work expenses.

What Happens After You Apply
After confirming your eligibility and completing your application, we will ask for supporting documentation to verify your income. You'll receive specific guidance on how to do this and what documents we need, but here are some examples:
- Recent Pay Stubs
- IRS Form 1040, W-2, or 1099
- 2020 Federal Tax Return
- Bank Statements
Following the March 5th application deadline, completed applications will go into the verification process. At that time we will ask you for additional details and connect you with a relief specialist who will finalize your assistance. They will help you complete the application by gathering information about your current rental and utilities, any past-due amounts or future payment needs, and any additional documentation needed to complete your application. Once approved, your rent and/or utility relief payments will be made directly to your landlords and utility companies.
