Appreciating Alaska's Landlords

By Cathy Stone, AHFC's Public Housing Department
Landlords play an important role in making sure Alaskans have access to safe, affordable and quality housing. Alaska Housing is committed to building strong partnerships with landlords across the state. Over the past couple years, we have seen how important collaboration is in many different ways, including:
- Alaska Housing Rent Relief, when nearly $262 million in federal relief was distributed to benefit more than 66,000 households in 2021-22.
- Working with landlords on AHFC’s Housing Choice Voucher, which assists eligible low-income Alaskans in renting privately owned units.
Opening Lines of Communications
Alaska Housing will be developing tools to open lines of communication where we will share information about Alaska Housing opportunities and updates, as well as tips that can benefit landlords, and more. We’ll also be asking landlords' opinions and feedback on topics to help us ensure we have resources available that can benefit you.
Thank you for all you do in helping our fellow Alaskans. We look forward to continuing the conversation with you.
