Alaska Housing by the Numbers

Alaska Housing works to reach every community in the state through its mission to provide Alaskans access to safe, quality, affordable housing.
Alaska Housing provides mortgage financing, public housing, energy efficiency programs, senior housing, and other housing-related services, including administrator of federal housing tax credits.
According to an analysis by UA’s Center for Economic Development, the corporation’s economic impact highlights for Fiscal Year 2018 include:
- Alaska Housing’s programs and activities created more than 2,500 jobs in the state.
- The corporation helped generate close to $400 million in business revenue and $250 million in gross state product.
- Each dollar spent by Alaska Housing generated a further $1.60 in revenue for Alaska businesses.
- Alaska Housing-backed mortgages accounted for nearly one out of three new home loans.
