Alaskan families with school-aged children may be eligible to receive up to $458 for each child for reimbursable food expenses. If your family has been impacted during the COVID-19 related school closures, financial assistance is available through the Pandemic-Electronic Benefits Transfer Program (P-EBT).

This program is for supplementing food costs due to COVID-19 related school closures during March, April and May 2020 when children did not receive free and reduced lunch. Currently, P-EBT is a one-time, federally-funded benefit available for families impacted during the 2019-2020 school year.

  • Families who receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits are automatically enrolled to receive additional P-EBT benefits.
  • Alaskan school aged children who attend a school where meals are free or receive free and reduced- priced meals are eligible to apply for P-EBT.

Families who do not receive SNAP and qualify for the program must apply for P-EBT by September 30, 2020. The Food Bank of Alaska strongly encourages families to apply by September 15, 2020.
