Collateralized Bonds (Veterans Mortgage Program) and General Mortgage Revenue Bonds II

The Alaska Housing Finance Corporation (“Corporation”) will conduct a public hearing at its headquarters located at 4300 Boniface Parkway, Third Floor Finance Department Conference Room, Anchorage, Alaska 99504, on February 15, 2019, at 10:00 a.m., regarding the following proposed bond issues, pursuant to AS 18.56, as amended, the interest on which is excluded from federal income taxation:

  1. Collateralized Bonds (Veterans Mortgage Program), in one or more issues pursuant to a plan of finance, in an aggregate principal amount not to exceed $75,000,000 ("Collateralized Bonds"). The Collateralized Bonds are being issued to further implement the Corporation's Veterans Mortgage Program to finance mortgage loans for the acquisition of homes for qualified veterans residing in the State of Alaska and/or to refund outstanding obligations of the Corporation which were issued to finance such mortgage loans, to fund reserve funds and to pay costs of issuance with respect to such Collateralized Bonds.
  2. General Mortgage Revenue Bonds II, in one or more issues pursuant to a plan of finance, in an aggregate amount not to exceed $250,000,000 ("General Mortgage Revenue Bonds").  The General Mortgage Revenue Bonds are being issued to further implement the Corporation’s program of purchasing qualified mortgage loans or to refund outstanding obligations of the Corporation that were issued to purchase such loans, to fund reserve funds and to pay costs of issuance with respect to such General Mortgage Revenue Bonds.

Moving to Work Plan and Capital Fund Program

The public is invited to participate in a 30-day public comment period and a statewide teleconference to provide comments on the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation (AHFC) FY2020 Moving to Work (MTW) Plan and Capital Fund Program. The Plan is available on the AHFC website at https://www.ahfc.us/publichousing/resources/mtw-plans-and-reports. The public may also obtain a copy of the Plan by calling Regina O’Keefe at 907-330-8432 or 800-478-2432, outside of Anchorage.

Section 230 of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2008 designates AHFC as an MTW agency. The MTW designation allows AHFC to waive parts of the 1937 Housing Act and regulations to address local needs. Requested waivers are detailed in the Plan. The Plan also outlines general information about resources and operations of the AHFC Public Housing Division.
