Loans to Sponsors
How the program works
Loans to Sponsors (LTSP) is a program under which Alaska Housing, subject to the availability of funds, makes low interest loans to non-profit corporations, regional housing authorities, or government entities (the Sponsor) to make home ownership more accessible to lower to moderate-income borrowers.
Sponsors apply directly to Alaska Housing for funds to use with their affordable housing programs and in turn make loans to lower to moderate-income borrowers as established annually by HUD, and adjusted for family size. The sponsor's funds may be used to purchase a home or make home improvements, or for down payment or closing cost assistance. The maximum loan to any one sponsor is $1,500,000 per fiscal year.
Additional considerations
- Borrower properties may include single-family residences, duplexes, triplexes, or fourplexes.
- The sponsor may loan funds to borrowers with income at or below 120 percent of the median income.
- Flexible loan guidelines meet the various needs of the sponsor's loan programs.
