Resource Information Center (RIC) Library
Welcome to Alaska Housing’s Resource Information Center (RIC). The RIC is a resource and information center that maintains materials on residential and commercial buildings for individuals with skills and abilities of all levels. It doesn’t matter if you rent or own, an apartment, condo, house or a commercial building. We have information for individuals, students, professional builders, building mangers or building maintenance staff. The RIC has information on remodeling, energy efficiency, the environment, sustainability, building components, renewables, building codes, commercial building, building monitoring, Alaska Statutes and much more.
The link above will provide a list of available materials and books by typing in the subject, title or author. To search for an online topic, type in the subject, followed by the word “web” (i.e. windows web). This will then provide a list of links for the information available online through the RIC. The RIC houses over 9,000 books, manuals, magazines, visual/audio materials and internet links. Materials may be checked out in person or mailed.
The booklets below provide a quick reference guide for residential and commercial buildings. The Strategic Energy Management Practices manual is a in depth guide for building owners and building managers.
