Alaska Housing Rent Relief
As the administrator of Alaska Housing Rent Relief, AHFC paid more than $262 million in emergency rental assistance directly to landlords and utility companies on behalf of Alaskans struggling as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Rent Relief Timeline in News Releases
- March 2021: AHFC announced that housing relief would be available as a result of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021.
- August 2021: Rent Relief hit a $100 million milestone.
- September 2021: A second round of assistance was announced.
- December 2021: Alaska Housing Rent Relief, in coordination with the Alaska Courts, helped to keep evictions down during the pandemic.
