Criminal Background Check

Any criminal background report must have been generated no more than 30-days prior to submittal to AHFC.

For New Energy Raters

The applicant must submit the Energy Rater Application, which includes statements regarding the individual's background history. In addition the applicant must submit an Alaska State Trooper Criminal Justice Report or FBI Identification Records Request. Either document is acceptable.

AHFC will review the criminal history and notify the applicant if a conflict exists.

Current Energy Raters

All Energy Raters with current Energy Rater Agreements provided background checks to renew their agreements. By regulation, the energy rater is required to notify AHFC if there is a change in criminal history status. Refer to the regulations for guidance, 15 AAC 155.560(a).

If there is any change in the energy rater's criminal history, the energy rater must complete and sign the Status Change form, and submit it to AHFC immediately. Based upon review of the status change, AHFC may require an updated an Alaska State Trooper Criminal Justice Report or FBI Identification Records Request. Either document is acceptable.
