Senior Housing Applications Accepted in Anchorage at Chugach Manor

Property for Alaskans who are seniors or with disability, and have low-incomes

ANCHORAGE, ALASKA, Dec. 17, 2018 - Applications will be accepted starting today for individuals who wish to move into Chugach Manor public housing that is owned and operated by Alaska Housing Finance Corporation. Eligibility requirements include income-qualified seniors age 62 or older or with a disability, and people requiring features of an accessible unit are invited to apply.

“Single bedroom properties in Anchorage tend to be in great demand. We try to give families a realistic sense of when housing may be available so they can make choices that are best for them and their loved ones. Today’s opening at our senior property in the Chester Creek area is due to a combination of vacancies and having worked through our prior list,” says Bryan Butcher, AHFC’s CEO/executive director.

Applicants will be served on a first-come, first-served basis provided eligibility requirements are met. Amenities such as onsite laundry facilities and storage are available at Chugach Manor, along with a summertime community garden.

In addition to today’s announcement, AHFC continues to accept applications for families who are income-eligible and seeking two- to five bedrooms in AHFC’s Anchorage-based public housing. The waitlist for AHFC’s Anchorage based Housing Choice Voucher program is closed.

Individuals may apply online for housing assistance or by visiting Alaska Housing at 440 East Benson Blvd., Ste. 200 in Anchorage. Detailed eligibility requirements and application instructions are available online or by calling 224-3737.
