More than 8,500 Applications Received for Alaska Homeowner Assistance

ANCHORAGE, Alaska, March 31, 2022 – As Alaska Housing Homeowner Assistance enters its final week of application acceptance, 8,582 applications have been submitted statewide to date. Alaska homeowners facing pandemic-related financial hardships such as mortgage delinquencies are encouraged to apply immediately. The online application process is easy to navigate and mobile-friendly — currently, roughly 71% of applications have been submitted by a mobile device. The deadline to apply is Monday, April 4, 2022, 11:59 p.m. AKDT, at AlaskaHousingRelief.org.
Alaska Housing Announces Funding For Low-Income And Senior Housing Projects

Alaska Housing Finance Corporation has announced the distribution of nearly $44 million in funding to assist organizations across the state in their efforts to provide affordable housing for low- to moderate-income families and seniors.
First Week of Pre-registrations for Alaska Housing Homeowner Assistance Results in 4,000 Eligibility Checks

Alaska Housing Finance Corporation opened the pre-registration window for Alaska Housing Homeowner Assistance, Monday, Feb. 28, 2022. As of 9:30 this morning, 4,007 people have checked their eligibility. The majority represents interest from Anchorage, Mat-Su, Juneau, Fairbanks and Ketchikan. All Alaska homeowners financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic are encouraged to pre-register and check their eligibility at AlaskaHousingRelief.org in advance of the formal application window March 14 - April 4, 2022.
Mortgage Related Pandemic Relief Soon Available From Alaska Housing Finance Corporation

Alaska homeowners impacted by COVID-19 will soon have access to apply for mortgage and related assistance through Alaska Housing Finance Corporation’s Alaska Housing Homeowner Assistance. The objective of the congressionally approved program is to reduce mortgage delinquencies, forbearances and foreclosures, as well as prevent loss of utilities or energy services, providing a new layer of security for Alaskans facing challenges due to the pandemic. Homeowners are encouraged to preregister at AlaskaHousingRelief.org beginning Feb. 28, 2022.
