Across Alaska’s Southeast communities, many families have been impacted by recent tragedies. For Juneau and Ketchikan residents impacted by flooding and the Ketchikan landslide, assistance is available through the State of Alaska.
On September 4, 2024, the Alaska Corporation for Affordable Housing celebrated the completion of Borealis Park in Fairbanks with an open house and ribbon cutting. A subsidiary of AHFC, ACAH has now built 58 units of affordable housing benefitting Fairbanks residents.
In 2011, the state of Alaska passed legislation allowing AHFC to establish a subsidiary to further the mission of providing Alaskans access to safe, quality, affordable housing through the acquisition, development, management, or operation of affordable housing. Since then, ACAH has helped develop more than 200 units of affordable housing throughout the state.
A lot of things can happen throughout the span of 20 years. In the case of Alaska Housing Finance Corporation, the agency’s investment in safe, quality, affordable housing serving educators, public safety officers, and healthcare professionals in rural Alaska has had big impacts on communities statewide.
A Survey of Alaska’s Housing Market - Posted July 30, 2024

Housing Alaskans: A Public-Private Partnership (HAPPP) is accepting grant applications for “top- off” funding of up to $150,000 for new construction and rehabilitation housing projects. The grant will provide funds for qualified housing projects ready to break ground or be completed in June 2023. The application deadline is Sunday, June 4, 2023.
